Product Description & Benefits: A practical alternative to leaky ice face packs, messy frozen peas, and hot gauze pads or towels, the reusable, doctor-recommended Face Masque Hot & Cold Pack Compress can be used on the face for hot or cold therapy to help in reducing post-operative swelling, bruising, pain, and discomfort and to speed your healing. Beyond its post-surgery applications, the compress can be used to enhance your daily personal beauty routine by softening wrinkles and pores, refreshing a tired complexion, and alleviating tired or puffy eyes. With hot therapy, aside from improving post-operative bruising, it can also alleviate sinus pressure due to common colds and allergies. Featuring a double velcro system to secure the compress in place around your head, the Face Masque Hot & Cold Compress stays cold longer than comparable products (up to 2 hours) and its unique soft outer membrane feels good to the skin and enhances patient comfort for extended use. The flexible compress conforms gently to the area where the application of cold therapy is needed. The compress's unique non-freezable, non-toxic, gel remains pliable and not hard even at low freezing temperatures. The design of the compress allows the gel to be distributed evenly over the treatment area for better cold therapy treatment. The gel and the material used for the compress are safe and non-toxic, making the compress safe for all applications.
The Compress may be used for a wide range of cosmetic procedures, including chemical peel, botox, collagen, restylane, and other injections, eyelid surgery, face lift, laser skin resurfacing, rhinoplasty, and other procedures (see full list below). Beyond using the Masque during recovery from a cosmetic procedure (see full list below), this product can enhance your personal beauty routine by softening wrinkles and pores, and reducing tired or puffy eyes. The compress is highly effective for puffy eyes treatment, alleviation of tired eyes and headaches, relief from clogged sinuses due to colds and allergies, rosacea, and first aid for burns and trauma.
The immediate application of cold therapy is beneficial for reducing post-operative swelling by constricting the capillary vessels and slowing down the flow of blood and other fluids to the injured or operated area. Patients also benefit from cold therapy's anesthetic effect on the nerves, which helps reduce the sensation of pain and provides a soothing, refreshing, and relaxing feeling to the injured or operated area. Further, cold therapy reduces the risk of hematoma formation. Because cold therapy helps to restore strength, mobility and range of motion more quickly, patients may reduce their hospital stay, heal faster and feel better sooner. Hot therapy is beneficial in reducing post-operative bruising by helping break down bruising discolorations (i.e. black, blue, purple, green, gray, yellow and other discolorations). Hot therapy can also help increase comfort and relaxation for sore, achy skin and muscle tissues that have been operated on.
This reusable Cold/Hot Compress provides hours of relief. With simple freezer storage between uses, this reusable face compress can be applied again and again. The flexible compress conforms gently to the area where the application of cold therapy is needed. The compress's unique non-freezable, non-toxic, gel remains pliable even at low temperatures. The design of the compress allows the gel to be distributed over the treatment area for better cold therapy treatment.
Instructions For Use: For best results, it is recommended to buy 2 compresses to be able to have a cold one ready at all times while the other is being used.
Cold Therapy Application:
1. Wrap the face compress in a towel and place it in the freezer overnight prior or 5 hours to use.
2. When ready, unwrap the compress and let it sit for 10 minutes. Do not apply the compress right away to the affected area as the cold temperature may cause freezer burns or minor tissue/nerve damage.
3. Apply the compress to the face and secure it with the velcro straps.
4. It is recommended to apply the compress for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). Consult your physician for appropriate application times. Following surgery, cold therapy treatments can be done for anywhere from 24-72 hours or longer (or as directed by your doctor). The cold compress can be used in your daily beauty regimen for 3-5 minutes or more to help freshen up a tired complexion, 10 minutes or more to soften the appearance of wrinkles, reduce redness and sunburn pain, and 15 minutes or longer to treat headches, migraines, and sinus problems.
5. When not in use, wrap the compress in a towel and place it in the refrigerator or freezer for future applications.
When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress.
Hot Therapy Application:
Different methods can be used to heat the compress, from boiling water to microwave heating. Before applying the compress on the affected area, be sure to test the compress by touching it to make sure that it is not too hot (extreme high temperature may cause severe burn and tissue/nerve damage).
Microwave Heating Instructions:
Microwaving the compress can be done, but be sure to follow the manufacturer instructions as overheating the compress can damage your compress and voids the manufacturer warranty.
1. Wrap the compress in a towel and place inside the microwave.
2. Microwave for no more than 1 minute.
3. Remove compress from microwave and check the temperature carefully. If more heat is required, repeat steps 1 & 2 and heat in 10 second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Do not overheat the compress, as this can damage your compress and voids the manufacturer warranty.
4. When desired temperature is reached, apply compress to the face and secure it with the velcro straps. Remove towel prior to applying the compress. For comfort, you may want to put a paper towel, gauze, or thin clean cloth between the compress and affected skin area.
5. It is recommended to apply the compress for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). Consult your physician for appropriate application times.
Boiling Water Heating Instructions:
1. Boil water in a pot that is large enough to fit the compress.
2. Then, turn stove fire off and take the pot off the stove. Wrap the compress in a towel and place it inside the boiled pot of water for 15-20 minutes; or until desired temperature is reached. Make sure that you do not put the compress in the pot until the pot is removed from the stove.
3. Remove compress from microwave and check the temperature carefully. Ensure compress temperature is comfortable for application. IF too hot, let the compress cool down for a few minutes prior to use.
4. When desired temperature is reached, apply compress to the face. Remove towel prior to applying the compress. If you wish, you may secure the compress with shoulder straps. For comfort, you may want to put a paper towel or gauze between the compress and affected area.
5. It is recommended to apply the compress for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). Consult your physician for appropriate application times.
Compress Care: After use, the compress can be cleaned with a mild soap and lukewarm water. To lengthen the life of your compress, wrap the compress in a towel and place it in the refrigerator or freezer for future applications. When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress.
