I would recommend using an erbium laser, probably ablative along deep lines and fractional over rest of face. It is always good practice to treat an entire aesthetic unit at one time, and the entire face is a unit that should be treated together. One of the potential drawbacks of CO2 is skin lightening in treated areas because of the heat generated and its effect on melanocytes. Erbium lasers generate less depth of heat and can be tuned as to how much heat is imparted into your skin. That is why I prefer them myself.
Basically all aesthetic procedures are based on controlled injury to skin which hopefully shows the desired changes during the healing process. Your skin will get tighter. No increase in skin cancer risk.
Best to use IPL (FotoFacial) on face for redness and brown spots.
Hope this was helpful for you.
Kind regards,
