My suspicions were correct! A non PS. I always tell patients it is very easy to discover who are the "real" PSs. 1. Ask to see their board certification diploma, it will state which board. (more)

Wow...an internist/ER doc did that? Yikes! I feel so sorry for your outcome. It's too bad that it's so hard for the average Joe to know the proper credentials of their doctor. It's even (more)

Thank you for letting us know. Unfortunately, your story is all too common! However, fortunately for you, your results aren't that bad (compared to others I've seen) and can be made (more)

  Botched Liposuction Results

I do not know if this is a "non plastic surgeon" or not. My comment was just that this reminds me of the type of result I often see from some of the non plastic surgeons in my area, often (more)

You are very brave to allow us to see what having surgery/liposuction by a non qualified plastic surgeon can result in. So very very sorry. In my opinion I would not wait 6 months I would (more)

Unfortunately with so many non-Plastic Surgeons performing liposuction these days, I see results like this frequently.
The best thing to do is additional contouring with liposuction for (more)

This is unfortunate, but we all see this from time to time. You should give it at least 6 months, then seek some one with good experience in additional lipo and fat transfer.
Good luck. (more)

I feel like I'm looking in a mirror
November 1, 2014 4:52 PM

I had smart lipo and almost died. The doctor was fired. Facing charges. Sadly I spent 2 years trying to find someone who knew what to do. Mostly I was told to wait and watch.
I feel like I'm wearing a concrete coresette. I'm thin and flexible and I can barely wipe!!

That concrete is scar tissue on my abdominal wall. It's thick! I look like I have a grapefruit in my belly!!
I endured 4 hours without sensation or anesthetic.
PTSD... I still can sleep under the covers due to being held down by 6 nurses .... Did I say nurses? I meant UNTRAINED, UNMASKED, UNGLOVED staff .. Found a genius doctor in New Jersey. He hugged me and apologized for what I endured!
Ladies: if your lipo doctor doesn't have the abbreviation MD. On his coat.... RUN!!!!!!!!!!
ALL LIPO SHOULD BE PERFORMED IN A HOSPITAL OR CONJOINED SURGI-CENTER UNDER TWILIGHT WITH AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST, an I.V. Line, a recovery room and with vitals taken!!!

Do not be fooled. This IS LIPO!!! You don't eat snacks or talk on your phone., as some videos show!

I'm on the east coast/ Baltimore.
Would love to talk to someone who has had ultrasound done to reduce the scar tissue. I'm afraid it's going to take 12 angry men to drag me back into an operating room after when I endured!

I look very smiliar to the pix of the abdomen. I had a seroma and wore the garment 8 weeks, yes 8. I am lumpy and wavy on both sides. The spa told me I haven't healed and now wants me to try Smooth Shapes...then possible repeat...I can't wear my bathing suit

Your question does not seem to be answered. What may you do to correct the mistakes that the surgeon did? Can fat be replaced or a tummy tuck?

In response to some of the feedback and the comment, no, the doctor was not a plastic surgeon. She was an internal medicine doctor who worked in an ER and now does "anti-aging" in which a weekend course is ALL the training she's had. Very stupid on my part, I know. I was very impulsive and too trusting. She was a patient at the dental office I worked in and I never researched her or anything for that matter. It was my own fault and I've kicked myself repeatedly for it.

Do we know who did it?

Do we know whether it was done by a "non-Plastic Surgeon" as Dr. Markmann's comment suggests?
