If you want, sometimes your plastic surgeon can inject a small amount of botox/dysport into the other side so that at least it looks symmetric until it heals.

I'm a 60 year old male, I had cosmetic surgery about 6 weeks ago. Neck, mid face, brow lift and chin implant. My surgeon made incisions inside my mouth, (gumline area) I have nerve damage, especially on my left upper lip, it's totaly numb. I do have the tingling itchy sensations along with some shooting pains and itching as well.
The other areas of my face and chin seem to be maybe improving somewhat, but not the left upper lip. i am very concerned as to whether or not I will regain function of my lip. I can't talk, eat, kiss or even whistle as I use to be able to do.
My surgeon just says it should get better but theres no guarantee. If anyone reading this has had simular experence, please let me know how long it took for your numbness to go away.
