I partially agree with the previous post. Yes - I agree to much fat was removed thereby totally unmasking the underlying muscle. In addition the necklift technique may have left prominent pillars which should have been sutured in the midline. I DO like using Botox in the neck for this very deformity and it works for over 4 months. The neck is MUCH smoother. The problem with Botox is that many injectors dilute it or use older / less active Botox resulting in shorter action. Using Botox in your case makes much more sense than re-operating. It sounds like your aging changes needed to be addressed with a platysma tightening procedure in addition to everything else you underwent. When you have just submental lipo without platysma tightening, the platysma neck muscles (neck bands) can become even more prominent as now the overlying fat has been removed (which used to mask the appearance of the neck bands). Unfortunately the only way to reduce the appearance now would be a neck lift with platysma tightening. Some people try using some botox but it really doesn't work that well and is very short lasting.
