Will Keliods change over time with Kenalog treatment?

In March, I had surgery to fix the Keloids that formed as a result of an operation.

Over the past few months I have been treated with Kenalog injections but I am not noticing much of a change.

Are Kenalog injections successful in decreasing the thickness of Keloids?

Please let me know.

Thank you!

Kenalog helps decrease keloids  August 30, 2011 10:54 AM

Kenalog comes in different concentrations. It is important to be conservative at first and use Kenalog 10, but if that doesn't seem to be giving you the desired effect, I would go to Kenalog 40. Another option would be to add 5-FU to the Kenalog. It helps improve the results.

Dr. Rivkin,

Thank you for your reply.

How exactly does Kenalog work? How soon after receiving an injection should I notice some type of change?

Please let me know.

Thanks again.

kenalog works by stopping the formation of new scar tissue under the skin and encouraging the body's own enzymes to break down the scar tissue.
it takes several weeks to notice results with kenalog
