Lasers can help  February 25, 2011 10:23 AM

Depending on the depth and quantity of your acne scars, as well as on the color of your skin, there is a variety of lasers that can help.
Acne scars are tough to treat, though and there are no shortcuts. Either you treat with more sessions and a few days downtime using a less intense laser like the Fraxel restore or you use a more intense laser like a fractionated CO2. The CO2 laser does the job in less sessions, but you have to give yourself a week to heal.

Both the Erbium and the CO2 Fraxel can improve acne scars. The CO2 Fraxel should be limited to superficial scar work whereas the Erbium can be used aggressively for deeper problems. Both may need repeated treatments and neither will completely solve the problem

Help for Acne Scars  July 26, 2011 8:16 AM

Absolutely! Treating acne scars is something I do nearly every day in my practice. Typically a patient will come to my office for a free, no obligation consultation during which I can examine them, discuss his or her goals and offer a treatment plan. This treatment plan may include Coolaser laser skin resurfacing, blue light therapy, dermal fillers or some combination of these treatments.
