Loose facial skin after weight loss - what's the best way to get rid of it?
I have lost about 10kgs and now have loose saggy skin on my lower face.
I am 49 and don't really have jowls yet and my chin line is pretty good since losing the weight but I do have vertical smile line wrinkles on my lower cheeks either side of my mouth which I hate and which are now accentuated since the weight loss.
Is a lower third F/L my only hope or are the skin tightening lasers like TITAN an option? (ie do they actually work or just say they do.)
Any suggestions welcome!
PS Does a lower third mini SMAS facelift tighten the skin as well as the underlying muscles as I would hate to go through a facelift and still have this loose skin!!!
A facelift is the best way to get rid of the extra skin in your face. I've done many facelifts on people who have gone through weight loss surgery and they work super on people who have extra skin from losing weight. You should be able to get a super result. Other options include the non ablative lasers and machines that tighten the skin. Deep fx is another way of using a fractionated laser to help tighten the loose skin but these are subtle results. A facelift and neck lift are the best ways to improve this. A facelift pulls up the muscle around your face and the neck lift goes through an incision under your chin to tighten the neck muscles. Together they can really shape your neck after weight loss.
A face lift will more efective to treat those lines, and better with the SMAS technique. The tightening skin technology, is more efective on improving contours more than lines, and they get a moderate improvement, never as good as a face lift
