what is the best filler on the market to fix the hollowness of a bad upper bleph?
My doctor has done fat injection once about 6 years ago and restalyne a few times since then. I stil have some residual effects from the original injecton of fat which worked out very nicely but would like to know if there is a better "quick fix" filler available.

Redo upper blepharoplasty  April 24, 2009 7:24 AM

Do you want to get fillers for the rest of your life?
You might want to consider having the upper eyelids redone. For replacement of aggressively removed fat, we prefer LiveFill(TM), nontraumatized fascial fat grafts. These are placed below the orbital septum (where the original fat was removed), and the upper eyelid scar is revised.

Juvederm  April 24, 2009 10:55 AM

I usually recommend fat for the upper lids, like dr brent, but if you really want a filler, then juvederm ultra at this point, is your best bet. it is soft and natural looking - if injected correctly by an experienced injector - and it lasts for a good amount of time. about 2 years.

You might look into fat transfer. The fat is taken from your thigh or belly and injected into any area that needs filling. Good luck.

Unfortunately quick fixes=quickly gone  April 27, 2009 6:33 PM

I would love to be able to offer my patients a quick filler that lasts but unfortunately nothing is out on the market that can offer that. Especially in the eyelid area where the skin is the thinnest in the body, thicker fillers such as Radiesse or Sculptura are not indicated and can lead to unsightly outcomes. Fat is the best long term eyelid filler in my opinion. It can be placed in the proper anatomic position where it is supposed to be found in a youthful person through a small incision that can be well hidden. Fat lasts very well in the eyelids as you have noticed yourself. I wish there was a simple quick fix but unfortunately in such a delicate area as the eyelid, there really isn't (and you wouldn't want to mess around with your eyes).

Can use juviderm. That?s what I like. Fat is still a great choice.
